MINISTRIES
The Philoptochos of St. Anna
The late Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras established the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society in November 1931. The purpose of the Philoptochos is philanthropy, which means "friend of the poor". Our local chapter of the Philoptochos is called St. Anna. Our women of St. Anna meet regularly and host a number of fundraisers that benefit local and national charities. Please consult our church calendar for the next meeting.
Lubbock Young Adult League
The young Adult League ministry (YAL) at Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church centers around four elements: Liturgy, Worship, Service, and Witnessing. The YAL group seeks to provide an environment within the Orthodox Church for our young adults to develop and expand their understanding of their faith and know in a deep sense they always have a home in the church. Our group offers activities and programs designed to foster fellowship among Orthodox Christian young adults. Activities include monthly meetings, community outreach, fellowship, and other events.
A coffee hour follows each Sunday's worship service. The coffee hour offers our parishioners and visitors a chance to meet and to socialize with one another.
The Greek Orthodox Young Adult League Prayer
Lord, as we struggle for meaning and purpose in life, guide us with Your helping hand. Teach us to be aware of God’s abiding love, and stir our concern for our fellow man. We commit to You our lives in the spirit of dedication and obedience so that we may be spiritually renewed through the teaching of our Faith and the guidance of the Greek Orthodox Church. For you are the God that loves mankind and to you we ascribe glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
